description of videoIn this video we demonstrate the avoidance manoeuvre. Using a counter steering technique will allow you to change direction quickly but safely. Using this effective technique will help with many aspects of cornering.

Do's

Remember to:

  • Aim to pass through the centre of the two blue cones
  • Pass through the speed detector at a speed of 50kph
  • Bring the bike back in-line with the blue marker cones to finish the manoeuvre.

Don'ts

You must avoid:

  • Look at the cones. Keep looking well ahead
  • Accelerate whilst changing direction
  • Brake whilst changing direction; straighten the bike before applying the brakes
